Join us for an evening of cheese, paired drinks and talk from Our Isles author, Angus D. Birditt, in a collaborative book launch with local bookstore, Bookbag. We will taste and talk our way through 3 British cheeses with paired drinks by Pullo. Books will be available to purchase on the evening from Bookbag bookstore.
A Portrait of British Cheese celebrates the excellence of artisan and farmhouse cheese in the British Isles, expressing it as a product of the land, its animals, and its people, offering a snapshot of rural life, artisan traditions and delicious dishes.
Angus D. Birditt is a writer, photographer, poet, award-winning food producer and founder of Our Isles. Angus is an advocate for the rural environment, celebrating and encouraging its appreciation through his various works. He writes and photographs on food & drink, agriculture, nature and rural heritage. Angus has worked for the Sustainable Food Trust, Pasture for Life, Farms to Feed Us and Pipers Farm. He has published a collection of poetry with Pavilion Books, and has recently published A Portrait of British Cheese with Quadrille Publishing.
